Seven killed, 14 injured in road accident near Attock

At least seven people were killed and 14 others injured in a road accident at Kohat Road in Attock on Sunday.

According to reports, the accident occurred when a coaster coming from Bannu collided with a car some 10 kilometres away from Fateh Jang tehsil.

The injured were shifted to Tehsil Headquarters Hospital (THQ) Fateh Jang. The condition of five wounded is said to be critical. As a result of the collision, both the vehicles were completely destroyed.

Last month, at least eight people had been killed in a collision between an oil tanker and a wagon on the same road in Attock. According to reports, as many as eight people were killed while six others were injured when a wagon laden with passengers collided with an oil tanker on Kohat Road near Mithial area of Tehsil Jand, Attock district. The deceased and injured were shifted to THQ Attock and Pindigate Hospital.

Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has expressed sorrow and grief over loss of precious human lives in the road accident near Attock and sympathized with the bereaved families. He directed the administration to provide best treatment facilities to the injured.

TWO KILLED IN MALAKAND ACCIDENT:

In the meanwhile in Malakand, at least two people were killed and seven others seriously injured when a passenger van plunged into ravine in Batkhaila on Sunday.

According to the rescue team, the passenger coach which was heading from Malakand to Agrah carrying passengers plunged into a ravine due to over speeding in Butkhaila.

The injured and deceased were shifted to District Headquarters Hospital (DHQ) Malakand. The rescue team quoting hospital official said that three of the injured were in critical condition. The deceased identified as Khan Muhammad and Sher Khan were residents of Malakand. The bodies have been sent to their native village for burial.
