No Pakistani casualty in Makkah crane incident, 47 injured: FO

Foreign Office Spokesperson Qazi Khalilullah has said that 22 Pakistani pilgrims were injured in the crane crash incident at the Grand Mosque in Makkah and were beiung treated in various hospitals while 25 other Pakistani pilgrims who sustained minor injuries have been discharged after treatment.

Khalilullah said that no Pakistani pilgrim was martyred in the incident.

Meanwhile, Minister for Religious Affairs Sardar Yousaf has said that seven of the Pakistani injured were in critical condition.

“We are in constant contact with the Saudi authorities and we have been informed that Pakistani doctors are also providing medical aid to the injured,” he said.

The Ministry for Religious Affairs, which oversees hajj arrangements, has formed an emergency cell which people can contact to get information about their relatives.
