Rifts in Faisalabad PML-N getting bigger by the day

Local level differences are widening within the Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N), as the central leader of PML-N and former member of National Assembly Chaudhry Sher Ali has announced his own “Mayor Group” for forthcoming local bodies elections.

According to the report, Ali has taken this step against the decision of the party leadership. It is stated that his son has also decided to contest local bodies election on the symbol of Mayor Group instead of the symbol of PML-N (Lion). For this purpose, he would soon meet the officials of Election Commission (EC) and request them to allot a combine election symbol to the Faisalabad Mayor Group for the local bodies elections.

According to the sources, presently two groups of the ruling PML-N are pitted against each other. One group is led by Provincial Law Minister Rana Sanaullah and the second group is active under the supervision of Chaudhry Sher Ali.

The sources revealed that central leader of ruling party had totally failed to end the differences of both the groups. The central leader of PML-N and former Mayor of Faisalabad, Chaudhry Sher Ali has opposed the party local body election policy.

It further stated that Chaudhry Sher Ali with the close collaboration of the local leadership of JI, PPP and other political parties could take massive lead in the upcoming local body elections.
