Qasim Zia offers plea bargain over NAB charges

Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader Qasim Zia, on Monday offered plea bargaining in corruption charges against him.

The hearing was held at an accountability court in which the accused was presented after a 14-day judicial remand. Qasim Zia offered a plea bargain over the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) charges.

The court ordered NAB to submit all records of the case in the next hearing.

An accountability court of Lahore on Monday adjourned the hearing of the bail plea of People’s Party leader Qasim Zia till September 10.

Aitzaz Ahsan, the counsel for Qasim Zia, while also talking to media outside Lahore accountability court, claimed that PPP is being subjected to political victimisation.

He said the PPP will continue to raise its voice against the discrimination.

Aitzaz Ahsan also met Qasim Zia outside the court.

It is pertinent to mention here that NAB arrested Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) former Punjab president Qasim Zia for alleged fraud worth millions.
