Biggest Pak-China Cultural Exhibition opens today

The biggest cultural event in the history of Pakistan-China relations in the non-governmental sector will be held today at the Pakistan-China Friendship Centre.

According to a press releases issued on Sunday, the program is part of celebrations marking 2015 as the Year of Pakistan-China Cultural Contacts. Organised by the Pakistan-China Institute in collaboration with China’s Tsinghua University and the Bolin Cultural Group, the event begins with a Roundtable on Preserving and Promoting Cultural Heritage along the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor at 10:30 AM.

The panel, which will be moderated by Dr Dushka Saiyid who is editor of the cultural magazine and website, youlinmagazine.com, features a panel of speakers from Tsinghua University, who came to Pakistan from China by road and who will deliver speeches on the promotion of cultural connectivity and interaction between China and Pakistan’s Northern Areas, via the Economic Corridor.

In addition, Aga Khan Cultural Services (AKCS), CEO Salman Beg, will give a presentation on the AKCS’ work in Gilgit Baltistan and Lahore in conserving the ancient cultural heritage sites.
