Opposition Leader in the National Assembly Syed Khurshid Shah on Tuesday said that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif attacked the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and Asif Ali Zardari only gave his remarks in defence of the party.

Talking to media in Islamabad, Khurshid Shah said that terming PPP leaders as ‘supporters of terrorists’ is a shameful act. Now the ball is in the Prime Minister’s court and it is up to him to what direction he leads the situation, Shah added. He said the PPP will never ever support corruption.

He said he is not desperate to meet the Prime Minister but said if Mr Nawaz Sharif desired, he would have no hesitation to see him.

The opposition leader further stated that he spoke of war with words and not by gun and he will ask the party leadership to lodge protest and fight on the issue inside the assemblies.

“We will fight this war inside the Parliament,” he said.

The opposition leader rejected the reduction in POL prices and said that necessary relief was not being provided to the people.

Khursheed Shah vehemently rejected the allegation of PPP supporting terrorism. He said if Dr Asim has been taken into custody, Punjab Minister should also be arrested.

He asked the members of election commission to resign for their own honour.
