Seven killed, five injured in city violence

As many as seven people were killed and five others injured in different violence incidents in the metropolis on Saturday.

A man, aged about 45, was gunned down by unknown armed men in Power House Chowrangi in North Karachi. The body was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital (ASH) for an autopsy. Five people were killed and two injured in an armed clash between two groups in jurisdiction of Sukhan Ploice Station in Bhaisn Colony area of Landhi.

The bodies and injured were shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center. A veterinary doctor, Dr Abbas Ali Merchant, 45, and his security guard, Sultan, 35, were included in the victims. Police arrested 10 suspects after the clash and further investigation is under way.

A boy, Muhammad Ishaq, 15, son of Muhammad Aslam, was killed by unknown gunmen near his house in Cheel Chowk area of Lyari. The body was shifted to Civil Hospital Karachi for medico-legal formalities. In another incident, a man, Alam, 40, son of Jalal, was injured by stray bullets near his house in Faqira Goth area of Gulshan-e-Maymar. He was brought to Civil Hospital Karachi for treatment.

Muhammad Asif, 45, son of Abdur Razaq, resident of Buffer Zone, was shot at and injured by unknown gunmen near Sarina Mobile Market in North Karachi. He was shifted to ASH for treatment. A youth, Musib, aged about 25, son of Shahid was injured to dacoits when offered resistance to them in a bid of robbery near Talha Masjid in Sector 5-J New Karachi. He was rushed to ASH for treatment.

TWO KILLED, FOUR INJURED IN ROAD MISHAPS

As many as two persons were killed and four others injured in different road mishaps in the metropolis on Saturday.

A man, aged about 35, was killed when a speeding vehicle hit him near Edhi Center in Sohrab Goth. The body was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for an autopsy.

In another accident, a man, Noor Rahman, 32, son of Shairwan, was killed when two trucks collided with each other in Post Qasim area. The body was shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center (JPMC) for medico-legal formalities.

Mahmood, 25, son of Hashim, was injured by a vehicle in Super Highway. He was brought to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for treatment. In another road mishap, three members of same family, Yasir, 40, his wife, Faiza, 32, and their son, Hammad, six year were injured when their motorcycle was hit by a rickshaw in Korangi No. 1. They were shifted to JPMC for treatment.
