The ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has decided not to move the Supreme Court of Pakistan against the verdicts of election tribunals and go for by-election.

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif convened a meeting of N-league’s central leaders on his arrival from Kazakhstan to review the situation emerging after the decisions of the election tribunals that have declared the election of former National Assembly speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq null and void and disqualified another MNA Siddique Baloch on the petitions of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).

The appeals filed in court will be withdrawn and no new appeals will be filed.

Sources said the PML-N is mulling to keep the post of National Assembly speaker vacant till the by-elections in NA-122 constituency is held.
