Talking to the outgoing Egyptian Ambassador Said Hindam in Islamabad on Tuesday, President Mamnoon Hussain said that Pakistan considered Egypt a significant stakeholder in the region as well as in the Islamic world and wanted greater collaboration with it.

The president called for greater people-to-people contacts and exchange of cultural and business delegations between the two countries to further expand bilateral relations. He appreciated the role of outgoing ambassador as the dean of the African heads of mission in promoting Pakistan’s relations with African countries.

Speaking on the occasion, ambassador Hindam said that Egypt and Pakistan share identical views on major issues and cooperate with each other at the UN, OIC, D-8 and other international forums. He added that Egypt has always stood by Pakistan, including on the Kashmir issue.
