As a part of the campaign to meet party’s rank and file down to the district and tehsil level in the Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on Tuesday met party office bearers representing the city and district chapters of Faisalabad.
The two meetings held separately in Zardari House Islamabad were also attended by Faryal Talpur, former prime ministers Yousuf Raza Gillani and Raja Pervez Ashraf, Punjab President Mian Manzoor Watto, Ppp Vice President Senator Sherry Rehman, Information Secretary Qamar Zaman Kaira, PPP Punjab General Secretary Tanveer Kaira and Media Advisor to PPP Chairman Jamil Soomro among others.
The meetings discussed a host of issues revolving around party organizational matters, current political situation and the challenges facing the party.
Participants expressed grave concern over the plight of farmers in Punjab and stressed the need for evolving a strategy to rescue the farmers from starvation at the hands of the policies pursued by Sharif regime.
Thanking the participants of the meetings, PPP chairman said that he will expand the breadth and depth of consultative meetings with party workers. He also expressed grave concern over the deplorable condition of the farmers and said that he had already directed party legislators to agitate the issue in the parliament.
