Three handcuffed in Khanzada attack case

In a suicide attack case which claimed Punjab Home Minister Shuja Khanzada’s life, Punjab Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) and Rangers arrested three Dhoke Chaudhrian residents, Qari Imdad, Qari Irshad and Shoukat, in a joint raid conducted on Friday at a religious seminary in Sector F/8 near Faisal Mosque.

The detainees have been shifted to an undisclosed location for interrogation.

On August 19, intelligence agencies arrested two suspected militants from Faisalabad in connection with the attack.

According to initial findings, most wanted terrorist Matiur Rehman is also likely to be involved in the attack. Rehman is wanted for the attempted assassination of former president Gen (r) Pervez Musharraf in 2003. He was also wanted for attacks on former prime minister Shaukat Aziz and the suicide bombing on Sheraton Hotel in Karachi.
