At least 100 tourists were left hanging in midair for around two hours in a cable car in Patriata, Murree on Wednesday evening.
Electricity supply to the cable car system had been suspended while backup generators had also failed.
Supply to the system was restored after Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif also took notice of the incident.
The PM expressed annoyance over the fault and admonished the concerned authorities, seeking a report on the incident. He questioned why there was no alternate arrangement and if there was an alternate generator then why it was not functioning.
