A convicted murderer of at least 17-year-old case on Wednesday has been executed at Central Jail.
Death row inmate Amjad Ali was hanged at 4:30am in supervision of special judicial magistrate Malik Saleem.
Ali had murdered his friend Khalil Ahmed on July 5 1998 on a paltry issue in precincts of Phool Nagar Police Station. Kasur Additional Sessions Judge Mukhtar Ahmed Khokhar had sentenced the criminal to punishment by death on January 23 2001.
No family or related person showed up to receive the body upon which the authorities sent the body to morgue.
