Hajj sponsorship – couple booked for defrauding Rs 20m

The Kohsar police have booked a couple for allegedly swindling over Rs 20 million from 125 people in the name of Hajj sponsorship.

According to the police, the accused identified as Aslam and his wife, minted the money from people in the name of Hajj sponsorship. However, the names of those who paid were not included in the list of pilgrims performing Hajj this year.

Nadir Sher, a local resident, lodged a complaint with the Kohsar police that the alleged couple has swindled around 125 people, and promised to send on Hajj, but at the eleventh hour they have disappeared.

The police have registered a case and further investigation is under way.
