Court allows Amir Khan to perform Hajj

An Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) on Monday allowed senior Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) leader, Amir Khan, to leave the country for Hajj pilgrimage.

The ATC was hearing an application from Amir Khan and later directed Federal Interior Ministry and Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) to remove his name from the Exit Control List (ECL) and allow him to perform Hajj.

Besides, the court directed Amir Khan to submit a security bonds of Rs 2 million as a surety that he will come back.

On June 30, Khan was released on bail in a case registered against him for allegedly providing shelter to 26 wanted suspects arrested by Rangers during raid on and around MQM headquarters, Nine Zero, in Azizabad on March 11.

Aamir Khan was also among those detainees in the raid in a case pertaining to instigating terrorism and harbouring criminals.
