An election tribunal on Monday reserved its verdict in the high-profile case of alleged rigging on Lahore’s NA-122 seat.
Pakistan Tehreek-i-Inaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan had challenged the election of National Assembly Speaker Ayaz Sadiq from the NA-122 constituency in the 2013 general elections, alleging that Sadiq had committed rigging and stolen the mandate of the general public.
At the last hearing, the election tribunal had directed Sadiq’s counsel to complete his arguments on the matter of alleged rigging in NA-122.
During the hearing of the petition on Monday, lawyers from both sides concluded their arguments after which the tribunal reserved its ruling. The court will now announce the verdict on Saturday, August 22.
