Sindh Minister for Katchi Abadis Javed Nagori resigned from his post on Friday allegedly over differences with the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leadership.

Although a spokesperson of the Chief Minister House cited health as the official reason for the minister’s resignation, sources said that the much coveted post of secretary general of Karachi division and tickets for upcoming local government election were the major points of contention that led Nagori to resign.

A few days ago, Nagori had said that, “In Karachi, PPP only wins from Lyari, but no one consults them while appointing a Karachi division president. The incumbent party president doesn’t belong to Lyari, which is considered a stronghold of the party.”

Nagori was elected from Lyari, PS-108 Karachi XX.
