At least one person was killed and 12 others injured when a fire engulfed a plaza in Lahore’s Ichra area on Tuesday, according to local media sources.
According to initial reports, the fire was triggered by a short circuit. As wires caught fire, smoke engulfed the seven-story building.
“A man who jumped out of a window of the plaza succumbed to his injuries,” a police source told a local media outlet.
Rescue teams arrived at the scene shortly and 60 people have been evacuated from the building so for.
The injured have been shifted to a nearby hospital.
