The ongoing operation by the Punjab Food Authority (PFA) against food outlets and eateries continued on Monday as its Director Operation Ayesha Mumtaz, accompanied by PFA team, visited Akram spices grinding unit situated near Ring Road and seized 3,500 kilogram of turmeric.

As per reports, she visited the grinding unit with Ravi Town team and found substandard red chili and other spices there. She sealed the factory and launched an First Information Report (FIR) against the criminal act of the unit.

In the meanwhile, a team of Gulberg Town imposed heavy fine on Ziafat restaurant, located on MM Alam Road, due to extremely unhygienic conditions. The inspection team witnessed uncovered food, washing crockery in stagnant water and dirty floors which prompted them to impose fine.

The same team conducted a raid on an eatery in Barkat Market named as Amratsari restaurant and sealed it due to open drainage in kitchen. The team also found that workers of the restaurant did not have medical fitness certificates.
