Taking Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief to task for his alleged defamatory statements against the country’s armed forces, Defence Minister Khawaja Asif asked Altaf Hussain on Sunday to remember the sacrifices of Pakistan Army that helped secure the citizens of the country.

“Measures taken by the army have helped us feel safe,” he said while talking to media outside his residence in Sialkot.

While referring to Hussain’s anti-state remarks, he said “no matter what sort of reservations one has about national institutions, they cannot ask the enemy for intervention and malign them.”

Commenting on Hussain’s speeches, he said there was no probability of him being Pakistani as no Pakistani would ever seeks help from enemies. “Our houses, localities and cities are safe due to sacrifices rendered by the Pakistan army which must be remembered,” he added.

Those who resort to such acts could be regarded as the biggest enemies of Pakistan, added Asif.

The defence minister on this occasion also lambasted India for its unending tirade and persistent allegations against Pakistan. He said that India is levelling false and baseless allegations against Pakistan and “we need to be cautious in the presence of such enemy”. He lamented that without any investigation India links every issue to Pakistan.

MQM SEEKS NO CONFRONTATION:

“Our forefathers rendered great sacrifices of thousands of lives to carve out this homeland, Pakistan. Accordingly, no wrongdoings or injustices can sever our ties with Pakistan,” the MQM founder pointed out firmly.
