GUJRANWALA/LAHORE: Three death row convicts were hanged early Thursday morning in jails across Punjab, according to local media sources.
Murder convicts Inamullah and Shafaqat were hanged in Lahore’s Kot Lakhpat jail for committing murders in 1996 in Shadrah and Shaikupura, respectively.
Meanwhile, the third murder convict, Tariq, was hanged in Gunjranwala Central Jail amid high security for murdering his niece.
Earlier on Wednesday, authorities stayed the execution of a death row prisoner Muhammad Anwar, who was to be hanged in Gujranwala Central Jail.
