President Mamnoon Hussain, on the advice of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, has approved the appointment of senior most judge of the Supreme Court, Justice Jawad S. Khawaja as chief justice of Pakistan from August 17 after superannuation of Chief Justice Nasir-ul-Mulk on attaining the age of 65 years on August 16.
