An advocate, Ashfaq Ahmed was shot dead and his companion Riffat Hussain sustained severe wounds when some unidentified armed men opened fire at their car near Safari Park in Gulshan Iqbal on Monday.
On reaching the crime scene, police officers launched an investigation into the matter after collecting evidence from the spot.
On hearing the news, lawyers’ community staged protest against the murder outside city courts. Due to strike hearing of hundreds of cases was adjourned.
Meanwhile, security agencies have apprehended two suspects of gang war in injured condition and recovered weapons from their possession during an encounter in Lyari.
Separately, Garden Town police nabbed two more suspects involved in street crimes and shifted them to undisclosed place for interrogation.
