Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan on Monday strongly criticised the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leadership during his visit to the flood-hit areas of South Punjab.

Addressing flood victims in Rojhan, Khan said Sharif brothers were “reining Punjab from their throne in Lahore, showing complete apathy towards remote areas of the province”.

The PTI chairman said the government did not take any measures to avert damage in flood affected Rahim Yar Khan and Rojhan. “There should be a will and not money to protect peasants who have been affected during the last two years,” he said.

Khan said the government was focused on projects such as Metro Bus Project instead of building embankments to prevent floods. “Perhaps projects such as metro offer more kickbacks than building of embankments,” he added, expressing resolve to fight for the rights and needs of common Pakistanis.
