UNITED NATIONS: The United Nations said on Friday that it had received a letter sent by Muttahida Qaumi Movement as reported in the Pakistani media.

The UN deputy spokesman Farhanul Haq said the letter had been received and “we are studying it.”

The MQM alleges in the letter that their workers are being mistreated during the current security operation being conducted in Karachi, and law-enforcement agencies are unlawfully detaining their activists.

The letter specifically mentions the raid conducted on MQM’s headquarters on the night of July 17, and the subsequent arrest of Qamar Mansoor, a member of the party’s Coordination Committee.

  1. Rightfully raised concerns. Pakistan should address valid concerns afterall what is democracy for. Democracy has some distinguishing points from dictatorship and freedom and transparency is one of them

    • This is nothing else just 'Cry of A Thieves' MQM is the criminal political party in Karachi city, they killed thousands of innocent people. They're also involved in terrorism. Just through the UN, they're now trying to pressurize Pakistan military force to stop ongoing operation. Pakistan Military forces doing a good job.
