Army chief General Raheel Sharif visited Italy’s Army Headquarters on Tuesday.
The COAS was presented guard of honor by a smartly turned out contingent of Italian Army. The COAS met Italian Army chief Lt General Danilo ERRICO. During the meeting matters pertaining to military to military relations, enhancing cooperation, defence collaboration and training were discussed.
The Italian army chief thanked Pakistan Army for its sacrifices and role in securing the region.
The COAS also met General Claudio GRAZIANO, Italian Chief of Defence Forces (CDF). Regional security and defence collaboration came under discussion. COAS said that “Pak Army has lot to offer to other Armies. CDF Italian Armed Forces appreciated Pak’s success and expertise in fighting terrorism. We see Pakistan Army with respect, admiration, he said. Italian CDF Vowed to eliminate terrorism together.”
