Fake passports land three Afghans into custody

The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has arrested three Afghan women for attempting to travel on fake passports.

The FIA also arrested a member of a human trafficker gang, who had brought the Afghan women to the airport for sending them off to the United Kingdom via flight PK 785.

The three Afghan women were identified as Urwa Shehzad, Kulsoom Shehzad, and Zarqa Bibi and the human trafficker as Tahir Munir, while his two accomplices fled the airport.

According to a source in the FIA, the human traffickers’ gang was active in the twin cities and used to send people abroad on fake passports.

The FIA also raid the office of a travel agent and arrested a man for his alleged involvement in facilitating human trafficking. According to the source, the human traffickers hailed from Khyber Agency and Afghanistan. Further investigation is under way.
