Lahore – Our Political Correspondent: “We’ll still have room to spare, if anyone’s interested.”

The Pakistan People’s Party’s remaining members from the Punjab are planning to revitalise the party by travelling the breadth and expanse of the province by a locally modified large Qing Qi.

“The idea came to me when I was going over the logistics of our cross-province yatra,” said Ilyas Chaudhry, PPP Punjab Finance secretary. “I realised that there were now only seven of us in the party’s provincial set-up, so one of these larger Qing Qis just made more sense, financially.”

“Look, we are clearly seeing bad times,” said PPP Punjab President Manzoor Wattoo. “But it could be worse. We’re not scooter-level yet.”

“It is with a bittersweet set of emotions that I am looking at this situation,” said Ayaz Latif Palijo of the Qaumi Awami Tehreek. “We Sindhi nationalists could never cross the PPP’s popularity in Sindh. But in Punjab, the Jeay Sindh Qaumi Mahaz alone is bigger than PPP.”

Till press time, it was still not confirmed whether the party’s thirteen remaining Punjabi voters would be attending the planned corner meetings.
