PTI most popular in K-P, PML-N displays overall strength

The results of local government elections for Cantonment Boards of the country reflect the popularity of PMLN, while the Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf has emerged as the most popular party in KP, with 256 seats in 24 District Councils, reportedly. 

The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has announced party positions under which PTI has secured 256 seats out of 978 seats in 24 districts of the province.

According to details, PTI secured 42 seats out of 92 from Peshawar district.

In Haripur, considered a stronghold of PML-N, PTI secured 24 out of 45 seats.

In Swat both PTI and PML-N secured 22 seats each while Malakand was the only District Council where PPP did well, securing eight seats out of 29 though it was one seat short of PTI which got nine seats.
