A senior police official was gunned down when he was returning home after offering Eidul Fitr prayers at a mosque in Swabi district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Saturday.
Elite Force Superintendent Hairul Haseeb was a retired army officer and had been posted to Bannu in the police commando unit. He had come to his hometown in Swabi to celebrate Eid. On Saturday Haseeb was returning from the mosque when unidentified gunmen riding a motorcycle opened fire on him, killing him on the spot.
