The International Provincial Agriculture Research Coordination Committee (IPARCC) and Vice Chancellors’ Forum termed the move by Capital Development Authority (CDA) to convert agricultural land into a housing society as an international conspiracy to destabilise Pakistan.

“The enemies of Pakistan have tried every measure to destabilise Pakistan but they failed miserably due to unity of the nation and now they want to snatch every morsel from the mouths of Pakistanis to create hunger and deprivation which would create anarchy in the country,” the forum observed.

The IPARCC and VC Forum meeting was chaired by Chairman Pakistan Agriculture Research Council while among others it was attended by members of the forum and PARC top management.

The enemies of Pakistan created severe law and order situation in the country and utilised several other tactics to undermine the country, however, due to the unity in the country, they failed. Now they want to hit the backbone of economy and create food insecurity and hunger to weaken the country.  So we must not be simplistic to think that this is just a land issue for the CDA, we have to look deep into the matter and think of conspiracies contrived by our foes to stop the future development of the country.

Speaking on the occasion, the PARC chairman said that establishment of housing society at NARC land would not only damage the agriculture sector of the country but would also have disastrous impact on climate of the region. He said that establishing a housing society at the cost of agriculture research and education was not a prudent measure as it would have very bad impact on future of the country.

He said that the council has been raising its concern over the CDA move at all forums to save the agriculture sector from destruction adding that this was the only sector performing well and providing food to the 200 million citizens.

The University of Agriculture Peshawar, Professor Dr. Muhammad Afzal Khan assured his full support for NARC adding that students of his university were also taking lectures at PIASA.

Secretary General FPCAL, Faqir Nusrat Hussain urged for taking proactive measure to frustrate such designs in the future and advised that all chambers of commerce all across the country and other such forums be involved to highlight the importance of agriculture research for the sustainable development of the agriculture sector.

He said that he would utilise the services of his chamber and would also approach provincial assembly members to raise the issue at the assembly.

Visiting Professor Islamic University, Muhammad Razzaq termed the whole affair as an international conspiracy to weaken the country while Vice Chancellor University of Arid Agriculture Rawalpindi, Dr. Rai Niaz Ahmed assured the PARC management of his full support in defending the existence of NARC.

The forum on the occasion adopted a resolution, condemning the CDA move in strong terms and urging the government to reject the summary for the better future of Pakistan.

The forum also suggested for utilizing the social media to spread the “Save NARC” campaign in all segments of the society and sensitise people about the importance of research and development.

  1. All CDA officials or others linked with this deal must be prosecuted and punished. They should also be dismissed from service. The problem will rise when PM’s ‘talented’ brother is involved.
