At least two people were killed while three were injured in Indian Border Security Force’s firing along the Sialkot working boundary on Thursday, ISPR stated.

The BSF opened fire at the Chaprar sector, causing the death of a civilian Ghulam Mustafa, 45, resident of Malana village, Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement.

Reports revealed that the forces targeted the Sulehpor, Jamian and Patwal villages, spreading fear among the residents in the areas. However, their guns fell silent after Pakistan Rangers effectively returned fire.

It occurred a day after an Indian spy drone used for aerial photography was shot down by Pakistan Army near Bhimber near the Line of Control.

The incidents took place in the last two days despite an ice breaking meeting between Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and his Indian counterpart Narendra Modi in Russia on July 10.
