Federal Interior Minister Chaudhary Nisar Ali Khan on Monday lashed out at Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain for his “derogatory speech from a day ago,” saying that no country will allow an expatriate to pass provocative remarks against its security forces and integrity.
“We have shown enough patience but now the time has come to contact UK authorities,” the interior minister said in a statement, terming Hussain’s remarks unacceptable and condemnable.
Nisar said Hussain’s speeches “incite hate and provoke violence,” and labeled his remarks “unacceptable” and “intolerable”. He said British authorities’ investigation into “Altaf’s illegal activities” had made him resort to “baseless allegations whereby he was spitting venom against the security agencies of the country”.
“Altaf is himself responsible for all that is happening to him, not the army or Rangers,” said the federal minister, adding that security forces were bearing the brunt of Altaf Hussain’s anger and desperation.
“The language used by Altaf in relation to the 1971 war is identical to India’s rhetoric. Our enemy country also uses the similar language and tone against our security agencies and armed forces,” he added.
Moreover, the interior minister said the Urdu-speaking community was educated and well behaved, and Hussain’s language was not a true representation of the community. “It is in fact causing them disrespect,” said Nisar.
ASIF COMES UP WITH DEFENCE:
Separately, Minister for Defence Khawaja Muhammad Asif Monday said that he respected the vote bank of MQM but the statements given by its chief against state institutions were not permissible in any way.
Talking to a news channel, the minister said that Hussain was issuing irresponsible statements from London, adding that MQM leader should come to Pakistan for doing politics. He said that MQM chief could not take stand on his statements, as he sought pardon at night on his statements given in the day.
Asif said that Pakistan Army and other security institutions were fighting against terrorism with fortitude and got remarkable success. He said that the nation was united and the security forces of the country were ready to face any challenge to the country including terrorism.
ALTAF SPOKE:
Altaf Hussain had Sunday called upon the army chief to take notice of the alleged violation of army’s code of conduct by the director general of Sindh Rangers and other officials and urged him to do justice in the matter.
“We are not against the army; we are against the rotten eggs in the institution. Chief of the Army Staff General Raheel Sharif should save Pakistan and throw out the rotten eggs which have embezzled billions of rupees,” he had said.
“Rangers personnel treat people in Karachi exactly how the Indian troops behave in occupied Kashmir,” he had said while addressing his party’s lawmakers and workers. The paramilitary forces are behaving like a mafia in the financial hub of the country, he added.
The speech was apparently in response to media reports that quoted Rangers sources as saying the paramilitary force was going to release a factsheet in a couple of days about the March 11 raid on MQM’s Nine Zero headquarters in Azizabad.
CASES REGISTERED:
Moreover, cases have been registered against MQM chief on Section 153-A in three police station of Jacobabad for using derogatory language against the armed forces.
