PESHAWAR:

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s National Accountability Bureau booked an already imprisoned ex-chief executive of Peshawar Electric Supply Company Pervez Akhtar Shah on Saturday, in a case of possessing illegal assets.

Shah was taken from the Peshawar Central Prison by the NAB officials and produced before an accountability court, which remanded him in custody of the bureau for 12 days, according to reports.

The judge ordered that the accused should be produced on July 23 again.

A special prosecutor of NAB, Danyal Asad Chamkani, claimed that a case had been registered against him by the Federal Investigation Agency  for providing electricity to Afghan refugee camps on cheap rates.

The prosecutor stated that during inquiry the NAB had traced several properties of the accused in different areas which were disproportionate to his known sources of income.
