ISLAMABAD:
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif is considering taking up the recent controversial statements of Prime Minister Narendra Modi about the creation of Bangladesh, the remarks made by Indian officials on Pakistan and the ongoing Indian interference in Pakistan at the United Nations, it has been reported.
A close aide to PM Nawaz told a local media outlet that the issue was discussed at the Foreign Office last week in presence of Pakistan Ambassador to UN Dr Maleeha Lodhi, where a mutual agreement of sharing with UN took place.
Considering PM’s desire to develop friendly ties with India, however, his decision is still awaited.
According to sources privy to the development, a consensus had emerged during the meetings at the Foreign Office that the Indian prime minister’s speech made by him in Dhaka last month and ‘evidence’ about India’s ongoing interference in Pakistan’s affairs must be taken to the UN.
