At least four robbers were killed while some of their accomplices managed to escape in separate incidents of alleged police encounters in Sheikhupura and Rahimyar Khan on Monday.
DPO Tariq Mastoi said that the police during routine patrolling came across a gang of robbers in Saddar area of Rahimyar Khan. Upon sight of police party, the robbers started firing and tried to escape. In retaliation, the police killed two robbers while their three cohorts managed to escape.
Meanwhile, in an alleged police encounter near Bakhi area at Faisalabad Road in Sheikhupura, two robbers were killed. Police said that the robbers killed in fire exchange were wanted by police in several cases.
