Nine die in accidents across province

As many as nine people lost their lives and 53 got injured in two different accidents in two cities of the province on Friday.

As per details, five people died and eight others injured as two vehicles collided in the capital city on Friday.

Rescue sources said that the accident occurred at Kala Khatai Road in the provincial capital where a speeding truck collided head-on with a passenger van.

Five people died on the spot in the accident while eight others sustained critical wounds. The bodies and injured were moved to a nearby hospital where according to medics condition of some wounded people was serious and death toll was feared to rise further.

Four dead, 45 injured in bus-truck collision:

Meanwhile, at least four persons were killed and 45 injured in a head-on collision between a truck and a bus in the Hamza Waali Tehsil, Alipur, on Friday.

Police said that the bus was on its way from Karachi to Peshawar when it rammed into a truck coming from the opposite direction.

The police blamed the bus driver for the incident as he was driving the bus above the speed limit.

Rescue teams shifted the dead and the less injured to near a nearby hospital while the seriously injured passengers were shifted to the Nishtar Hospital Mulatn for treatment.

A doctor at the hospital said that some of the injured were in critical condition, fearing escalation in the death toll.

The police have registered a case and started investigations.
