At least 48 more dengue viral fever cases were reported across the city in a week taking the death toll 573 in 2015.
According to a weekly report issued by the dengue prevention and control programme Sindh, 48 more dengue fever patients were reported from city in a week and total number of cases had now reached 573 in Karachi.
A report stated that total 593 dengue fever cases had been reported in Sindh province since January 2015, out of them 573 were detected in Karachi, while rest were reported from other parts of Sindh. Three people, including a child, died of dengue fever in the city this year so far.
Some 19 other dengue fever cases were reported from Balochistan province so far. It is also clarified in the report that two deaths reported by some section of media in public sector hospital were not occurred due to dengue but happened due to cerebral Nagria and Encephcitis and due to suspected Congo Hemorrhagic fever.
