Two suspected robbers were killed in an alleged police encounter on Monday while arms, cash and motorcycles were recovered from their possession.
Superintendent of Police (SP) Saddar Division Zahid Khan Marwat said that police approached two-member gang of robbers engaged in looting the citizens at gunpoint in Rasoolpura locality of Nawab Town.
Upon sight of the police party, the robbers fired shot s at cops and tried to flee the scene.
In retaliatory firing, both robbers identified as Mazhar and Nasir hailing from Hujra Shah Muqeem and Mandi Ahmedabad localities of district Okara were killed.
The police also recovered two motorcycles, arms, looted cash and other valuables from the possession of the robbers killed in encounter. The bodies were shifted to hospital.
