PM vows to fulfill all promises made with G-B people

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has vowed to fulfill all promises made by Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) with the people of Gilgit-Baltistan ahead of elections.

While talking to a delegation comprising newly elected members of Gilgit-Baltistan Legislative Assembly (GBLA) in Islamabad on Wednesday,Prime Minister said that the people of Gilgit-Baltistan have expressed full confidence in the policies of the current government by voting to power members belonging to the PML-N.

He said that the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) will help in creating new job opportunities and promote tourism in the region. Nawaz said that the government attaches top priority to socio-economic uplift of Gilgit-Baltistan. He assured the delegation that the federal government will extend full cooperation for provision of funds to the region.

The prime minister congratulated the PML-N leaders on peaceful and free and fair GBLA elections. He urged them to work hard to resolve the issues facing the masses on a priority basis.

The delegation invited prime minister to visit Gilgit-Baltistan, which he accepted. The meeting also discussed names to be picked for the new chief minister slot. Governor Gilgit-Baltistan Barjees Tahir and PML-N Gilgit-Baltistan Chapter President Hafiz Hafeezur-Rehman were also present.
