ET adjourns NA-122 rigging decision till June 17

The Election Tribunal on Monday postponed the decision regarding making the Supplementary Report as part of the record and adjourned NA-122 alleged rigging case till June 17, 2015.

In his remarks, Election Tribunal Lahore Justice Kazim Ali Malik said that without deeper appreciation of the supplementary report, particularly after examination of Chairman NADRA on oath, and it would not be just to form a definite opinion about its worth.

“I postpone my decision with an observation that the questions qua relevancy, admissibility in evidence and evidential value of the supplementary report would also be answered by means of final order by the tribunal”, the Election Tribunal remarked.

During the last proceeding, Chairman NADRA Usman Yusuf Mobin had told the election tribunal that according to statistical expectations 99.93 percent votes polled in NA-122 constituency are valid.

The chairman was summoned by the tribunal for recording his evidence and cross examination in connection with forensic reports filed by NADRA after thumb verification of NA-122 and PP-147 constituencies. Counsels of both parties cross examined the chairman during the hearing.
