History repeated itself on Saturday when Prince George made his debut on the balcony of the BuckinghamPalace wearing the exact baby-blue romper suit his dad, Prince William, wore during his first appearance 31 years ago.

Charming pictures from then and now also show how an excited Prince William, then aged two, reacted in the same excited way as his own son to the Trooping of the Colours, which marks the Queen’s birthday.

While the crowds got excited to see the little prince, Princess Charlotte was nowhere to be seen.

Prince George, who turns two next month, has the same light blond hair as his dad and wore the same blue romper suit with a white frill and buttons as William.

The Queen’s birthday marked a special moment for the Royal Family as four of its generations appeared together on the balcony for the celebrations.

Though the Queen’s actual birthday is on April 21, her official birthday is celebrated nationally on the second Saturday in June when the weather is usually more predictable.

The parade began at BuckinghamPalace before moving through Horse Guards Parade, The Mall and Admiralty Arch to mark the Queen’s official birthday.

The 89-year-old monarch was taken past the crowds in a horse-drawn carriage along with her husband, Prince Philip, who was wearing a full bearskin hat, accompanied by a red tunic.

Prince Harry was also pictured dressed in the uniform of the Household Cavalry, where he remains a Commissioned Officer.
