Students and their parents have voiced a strong protest against changing syllabus books of three subjects  for grade nine and 10 by the Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (FBISE) after two months since the new year commenced.

A notification has been issued by FBISE on June 1, 2015, through which three books including part-1 and part-11 Islamiat compulsory, part-1 and 11 of Pakistan studies and part 1 and 11 of Ethics (Ikhlaqiat) have been changed.

Earlier, the books for Islamiat compulsory and Pakistan studies, published by National Book Foundation, were prescribed for grade nine and 10, and it is now mentioned in the notification in clear terms that the Book of Islamiat compulsory under syllabus 2002 and book of Ethics for non Muslims under syllabus 2007 which are published by Punjab Text Book Board will be taught to the students.

These books have been changed after two months from the commencement of new academic year and this way two months of studies will be wasted due to this step.

The students and teachers have demanded for the withdrawal of the notification on changing the books to save their two precious months from the new academic year.
