Eight killed in road accidents across province

At least eight persons were killed and about twenty injured in road accidents n Bahawalpur, Rahim Yar Khan, Vehari and Toba Tek Singh on Monday.

According to reports, at least five persons of same family including two women died and seven others injured in a collision between two vehicles in Bahawalpur.

Police said that the accident occurred in Chak No 69/4-R in Haroonabad area of District Bahawalpur where a passenger van coming from Chichwatni collided head-on with a speeding trailer.

The bodies and injured were rushed to the Haroonabad Tehsil Hospital where condition of some injured people was stated to be serious.

In Vehari, two women stated to be mother and daughter died in collision between two motorcycles on Monday.

Rescue sources said that two speeding motorcycles while trying to cross each other collided at Ladan Kacchi Pakki Road. Three persons sustained wounds. The bodies and injured were shifted to hospital for medico-legal formalities.

At least nine devotees were injured in collision between trailer and a bus in Rahim Yar Khan. Rescue sources said that a bus carrying devotees of Lal Shahbaz Qalander back from Sehwan to Sahiwal collided with a speeding trailer at Muslim Chowk.

The injured were rushed to hospital for treatment and according to medics their condition was stable.

In Toba Tek Singh, a woman died and another injured when a speeding car hit a motorcycle.
