In a request submitted to the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA), the Central Power Purchase Agency on Thursday sought Rs 2.05 per unit reduction in power tariff.
The price cut has been sought under the monthly fuel adjustment plan. The CPPA reported to regulator that 6.24 billion units were sold to the distribution companies (DISCOs) during March. Average fuel cost during March was Rs 6.04 per unit while power was supplied to the consumers at Rs 8.09 per unit. The NEPRA will hear the petition on June 2.
