LUMS students, faculty visit Corps Headquarters

A large group of students and faculty members of Lahore University of Management Science (LUMS) visited the Corps Headquarters and met Corps Commander Lieutenant General Naweed Zaman.

Talking to the visitors, the corps commander said that youth is the hope and future of this country. He said that the sacrifices being rendered by Pak Army in the ongoing war against terror is meant to secure a peaceful environment to ensure a brighter future for them.

He emphasised the need for their whole hearted commitment towards attaining academic excellence as pursuance of education is the best way the students can defeat the forces of retrogression.

Earlier, the students witnessed a demonstration by Quick Reaction Force to combat terrorists and commended the agility and fighting capability of the elements of Light Commando Battalion. They were also imparted technical knowhow of weapon handling and small arms firing skills. The students also visited the border area and commended the professionalism, dedication and resolve of the army officers and jawans in defending the motherland. The day long programme culminated with flag lowering ceremony at Pak-India joint check post at Wagha border.
