ISLAMABAD:
Imran Khan, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman, Monday said the time has come to stand up to Punjab police, which he called “Sharif gullus”, according to local media sources.
“Time for us to stand up to the Sharif gullus. If lawyers can be murdered who will be next? This has to stop now,” he said in a message posted on Twitter.
His remarks came after two lawyers, including President of Daska Bar Association, were killed in a clash with police, according to reports. Khan said that two lawyers of Insaf wing were killed and two others were wounded in Daska town of Sialkot.
“Two PTI lawyers including Rana Khalid Abbas President Daska Bar, were shot dead,” he said, reportedly.
“When Model Town gullus go unpunished, then there is little to deter the police from committing murder again and again,” the PTI chief added.
