Naegleria claims another life

A man suffering from deadly Naegleria Fowleri died in a private hospital on Friday increasing the death to three in a month from brain-eating Naegleria.

Director Health Karachi Dr Zafar Ejaz said a man namely Sarfraz Nawaz, hailing from Thatta, was brought to a private hospital on May 19 and he died on Friday.

Earlier, two people died of Naegleria Fowleri in private hospitals including 37-year old Farooq Mir, resident of Clifton area of Karachi, who died in a private hospital a week ago, and an eighteen-year-old girl of Gulistan-e-Jauhar of same disease last month in a private hospital.
