A shopkeeper was allegedly killed on Tuesday as clashes ensued between personnel of Walled City and traders during an anti-encroachment operation by the former. Traders have announced to observe shutter-down on Wednesday.
During an anti-encroachment operation by staff of walled city in Shah Alam market, a shopkeeper named Najam Al-Kutb alias Jago, whose shutter was allegedly outside the prescribed limit, scuffled with the staff which resulted in his death.
The traders started protesting in front of Mochi jail and raised slogans against the Walled City staff as well.
The Walled City staff claimed that Jago died due to a heart attack in the middle of the fight.
The traders began to close shops as a result of the casualty in the aftermath of the clash.
Traders have demanded of the authorities to take stern action against persons involved in the alleged torture of the killed trader.
The traders also took 5 persons from the staff in custody and handed them over to police.
