Estranged Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader Zulfiqar Mirza appeared before an anti-terrorism court (ATC) on Tuesday and submitted his death declaration before the judge.

In his written declaration, Mirza nominated PPP co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari, MNA Faryal Talpur, CM Sindh Qaim Ali Shah and IG Sindh Ghulam Haider Jamali to be responsible in case anything happens to him during his movement from court to his residence. He expressed concerns that he might be killed in an ambush outside the court by police.

High ranking police officials also gathered outside the court including DIGs of South and West zone along with SSP City Fida Hussain. A huge contingent of Special Security Unit (SSU) is also present outside the court waiting for order of Mirza’s arrest.

Earlier, the court extended his interim bail till May 30. During a hearing, Mirza said he was not an agent of Indian intelligence agency ‘RAW’ unlike former president Asif Ali Zardari and Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain.

“I am a true Pakistani and will face all the cases in the court,” Mirza said.
